Evolution Running “Essential Diagnostics” to Ease DriveClub Server Issues

DRIVECLUB developer Evolution has said they are “just as frustrated as you about the server performance issues.” They are currently running essential diagnostics to help improve the performance of the servers. What they’re not doing is increasing the number of servers they’re running to allow more gamers to connect.

It seems that Evolution has greatly underestimated the demand for the game, let alone accounted for the millions of gamers with a PlayStation Plus subscription. It’s a very sad to see an AAA game delayed for almost a full year, and then run into problems when it finally launches. Its even worse to see that the developer use some of that extra development time to load-test their severs to account for gamers.

“We are sorry we don’t have more news to share right now but we will keep working hard to get you all up and running online as quickly as we can,” says Evolution.

“In case you don’t already know, the servers are up and running but they are hitting their performance limits,” explained Evolution in a Facebook post. “They won’t accept new connections until one of the current online players frees up their space (allowing another to join in their place, which happens automatically and player selection is random).”

As of this morning, the situation is unchanged. But with the release of the UK version of the game today, the issues are bound to get worse. The Facebook page for DRIVECLUB shows how frustrated gamers are with the issues.
