The BBC reports that a film based on the Gran Turismo franchise is in development by Sony, with The Social Network and Fifty Shades of Grey producers Michael De Luca and Dana Brunetti having been linked to the project. According to the article, Sony says the film is in development, but cannot provide “any further details about the movie or when it would be made.”
Rumours about the movie surfaced earlier this week, but has now been confirmed thanks to the BBC. Sony executives Elizabeth Cantillon, DeVon Franklin and Hannah Minghella will oversee the project, according to Hollywood news site The Wrap.
Lets hope the movie is better than Fast and Furious 6. The next iteration in the franchise, Gran Turismo 6, will be available on the PS3 later this year.
