Sony Announces Wonderbook At E3 2012

June 5th, 2012 / Niraj Shah / News

At Sony’s E3 Press Conference, a new PlayStation project was announced. Wonderbook is a new device and service that brings books to live using the PlayStation Eye and augmented reality. The first book to support the service will be J.K Rowling’s Book of Spells –  an interactive experience that lets gamers learn spells like a student at Hogwarts.

The service will be available for PlayStation 3 and it won’t just limited to stories. Sony mentioned a new title being worked on by studio Moon Bot, creating a title called Diggs Nightcraller, a detective store, using Wonderbook.

The service will be available in Fall 2012. Looks like the Storyteller rumor was just a bit off the mark.
