Amazon Instant Video is available now on PlayStation Network, making the PS3 the first and only video game console to offer the service. The app can be found in the [My Channels] option on the [TV/Video Services] section of the XMB.
There are more than 120,000 commercial-free movies and TV shows for rental or purchase, including new releases, classic favorites, major TV shows, full seasons and even new episodes of some of your favorite TV shows the day after they air.
Amazon Prime member have access to more than 17,000 Prime Instant Videos, at no additional cost. If you’re not yet an Amazon Prime member, you can sign up for a free 30-day trial right there within the app.
Movie rentals cost between $2.99 for SD and $4.99 for HD and it’s a 24 hour rental (not 48 hours like the PlayStation Video Store). Purchases look like they sit at around $6.99 at the cheap end of the scale and $14.99 at the more expensive end.
