Sony have confirmed that the first set of 3D games for the PlayStation 3 will be available June 2010. In addition, the 3D firmware update for the console will also be released in June, though the exact release date is yet to be announced. To mark the occasion, Sony will be giving away 3D games and Blu-ray videos along with the HX800 3DTV, Sony’s first consumer TV set.

Sony will be releasing four 3D stereoscopic PS3 games through the PlayStation Network, all of which will be free with the TV. According to the Press Release, the first set of 3D games will be:

  • Wipeout HD: full 3D game (not including WipEout HD Fury)
  • PAIN: 3 x 3D episodes + 1 x 2D tutorial
  • Super Stardust HD: full 3D game (not including DLC)
  • MotorStorm Pacific Rift: single level 3D demo

In addition, Blu-ray titles including Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs, and Deep Sea will be included with the TV set.
