The latest aggregated sales figures from Home Media Magazine puts revenues from BD sales in the US for the first quarter of 2010 were $331.31 million, which accounts to an increase of 68.5% compared to the Q1 2009.
As for the entire market, Blu-ray accounts for 12.3% of packaged-media sales revenue in the US in quarter one of 2010, compared to 7.0% in Q1 2009. The Blu-ray format will continue to gain momentum this year with the introduction of 3DTVs and 3D Blu-ray movies.
