God of War III hits the headlines again this week with more sales related news. The title has not only outsold the previous two titles in week one sales, but has now broken the 1 million units mark. Sales for the title up to March 20th 2010 indicate that just over 1.1 million units were sold worldwide. In terms of regional breakdown around 700,000 units were sold in the Americas and 400,000 in Europe and Other Regions (excluding Japan).
The God of War series has now sold over 11.5 million units worldwide and nearly 400,000 units more than God of War II managed back in 2007. God of War sold over 4 million units followed by God of War II selling close to 3.4 million units worldwide. It looks like the third title is set to beat both milestones.

I bet part of the reason of GoWIII outselling the previous two is down to there being no piracy on the ps3. The ps2 got raped by hackers.
