Motion Controller Called “Gem” By Disney

February 18th, 2010 / Niraj Shah / News
2

The Motion Controller has been called Gem once again. This time, by Steve Wadsworth, President of Disney Interactive Media Group, at the 2010 DICE Summit. Wadsworth started out showing a highlight reel of Disney games, including titles such as Pure, Split Second, and the upcoming Toy Story 3 game.

After mentioning the iPad and iPhone, Wadsworth also talked about upcoming opportunities with Microsoft’s Project Natal and, in perhaps a slip of the tongue, Sony’s Gem. The motion controller doesn’t have an official name yet but the names “Gem” and “Arc” have been flying around, though Sony states that these are just code names.
