PlayStation 3 Finally Hacked?

January 6th, 2010 / Niraj Shah / News
2

A group of hackers over at the haxnetwork are claiming that they have successfully discovered a method that will allow you to boot back-up copies of PS3 Blu-Ray games using MotorStorm. Whether or not the exploit actually work remains to be seen. Naturally, Sony won’t be too happy to see their un-hackable console finally being exploited to run illegal copies of games.

On top of the lengthy instructions to get the exploit working, the other downside of this is that it does not actually work for all games. Although, the group claims that the exploit works just fine with Killzone 2, PES 2008 and Burnout Paradise. A video of the exploit was available, but has since been removed by the group.

Gotta give props to Sony for building a beast of a machine that till date is still not hackable! BTW, this hack turned out fake. Glad it did, cannot let the pirates in else they’ll ruin everything! Support the devs!
