PS3 Slim Vertical Stand – Is It Really Worth It?

August 20th, 2009 / Niraj Shah / News

If you are thinking of purchasing a PS3 Slim next month, there is something you should know. In order to use the console vertically, Sony recommends you purchase a vertical stand for the console, costing you an additional $25 / €25 on top of the price of the PS3 itself. The questions is, is it really worth it? Lucky for us, Kotaku did a quick test to see if the PS3 Slim can actually stand vertically without the stand. The answer? Watch the video below to find out.

As long as the PS3 stands against a solid surface, you are free to keep the PS3 vertical, and save yourself $25 in the process. See below to see what the vertical stand actually looks like. Now you tell me, is it actually worth $25?

It does look dodgy when you stand it it, but that could be the camera wobble. Couldnt they have just made it with a flat edge? Definition of rip-off.
