It was previously mentioned that Sony would be holding a 3 hour press conference at GamesCom next week, but a SCEE representation has cleared some thing up for us. Although three hours are booked for the conference, most of the time will be used for people to sit down. The press conference will actually be “just over a hour.” SCEE also sent out a press release saying that the conference on August 18, 2009, Tuesday, will last from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM CEST (5:30 PM to 7:30PM BST) instead of the 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM time slot they mentioned a while back.
The conference itself will start at 7:00 PM. In the US, that’s 10:00 AM PST, 1:00 PM EST. In the UK, that’s 6:00 PM BST. Its quite a short time slot considering how much time they used at E3. Hopefully, Sony’s press conference will include details on the PS3 Slim, a price cut to the PSPGo and PS3 and some new game announcements. We don’t think there will be much time for game trailers, though.
