SCEE has officially released its own PSP formatted magazine for the PSP, called “The Magazine”. Just like any other PSP formatted magazine, it can be viewed using the PHOTO Menu on the PSP. The first issue was released on December 15nd, 2006 via the PlayStation Store found at YourPSP.com (not the one via the PS3) . Issue 1 contains reviews about various PSP and PS2 games including Killzone Liberation (PSP), Guitar Hero II (PS2), and several others. There is also an article about the new James Bond Movie, Casino Royale and a tribute to Singstar.
In my opinion, the magazine is good but lacks the quality seen in many of the independent magazines available on the Internet. It is a good try but improvement is necessary. We have no information on when Issue 2 is to be released but we will keep you informed. In the mean time, head over to the Your PSP Store and download a copy for yourself.
You must register to YourPSP.com before you can download any content from the store. The magazine is available for free, however, you must have your PSP connected to your PC as it will be downloaded directly on to it (using a Java Applet).
