Get ready to cause more havoc in Shanghai with Salem & Rios in Army of Two: The 40th Day. The pack, titled Chapters of Deceit, will feature two new co-op campaign maps in which players stumble upon information that could “lead to ending the invasion by Jonah and his 40th Day Initiative army,” says EA.
The heroes of Army of Two: The 40th Day Salem & Rios have come to London from their home in Montreal to help promote the launch of their brand new video game. The pair’s antics, captured in a new trailer released today, show Salem and Rios speaking with BBC 1Xtra’s Rampage Crew – Mike Anthony and Treble T – getting Kara Tointon to do their make-up, signing copies of the game for fans (including The Inbetweeners star and robot dance maestro Blake Harrison), rocking out with music act Pint Shot Riot, and generally creating havoc all over the city. Army of Two: The 40th Day reunites Salem and Rios as they’re forced to survive in a city under siege. The sequel includes more co-op moves for players to use at any time, which will allow for completely different strategies and options in battle, adding up to a bigger, more organic and immersive co-op experience.
Spenser Norrish, the Community Coordinator for Army of Two, announced the release of the Army of Two: The 40th Day demo earlier today. The demo will be available as a free download via the PlayStation Network on December 17th for the PS3 and on January 14th for the PSP. The PS3 demo includes most of the first level in the game, where the iconic two-man private military team of Salem and Rios find themselves trapped in Shanghai as it falls under attack.
Electronic Arts has released 6 new screenshots for Army of Two: The 40th Day. If you are not familiar with the game here is a quick overview: Army of Two is a third person shooter game focusing on the fictional story of two private military contractors “fighting through war, political turmoil, and a conspiracy so vast it threatens the entire world” in a timeline spanning from 1993 to 2009. The sequel, The 40th Day, follows the story of Tyson Rios and Elliot Salem as they attempt to escape from Shanghai.
