A new system software update (v4.00) is now available to download. In preparation for the launch of PS Vita in Japan, this update will prepare the PS3 to serve as a content management device. It will allow users to copy their media content such as games, music, photos, and videos between PS Vita and PS3, back up PS Vita save data to your PS3 hard drive, and update the system software for your PS Vita system using the network features of your PS3.
With Christmas just around the corner, Sony has some amazing deals for gamers on the PlayStation Store. The 12 Deals of Christmas will run throughout December, up until Christmas Day, featuring 12 amazing deals for you to unwrap. However, each deal will only be available to redeem from PlayStation Store for 48 hours.
Naughty Dog is putting the final touches on a new patch for Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception and among the listed changes there is now the option to select “Alternate Aiming Settings” from the in-game option menu. Since launch, gamers have been complaining about the “realistic” changes made to the gunplay has ruined the experience.
If you are finding the black PS3 somewhat boring, then this bit of news is just what you need. Sony Japan’s site shows two new PS3 colours: Scarlet Red and Blue Splash. The new colour variants are joined by a new PSP with black and red bodywork and make up a significant push for sales this Christmas by the Japanese branch of the console giant.
If you are looking for long-lasting games, then look no further than Final Fantasy. The dev team behind Final Fantasy XIII-2 has revealed that the story mode of the upcoming sequel should take between 30-40 hours to complete. This shouldn’t come as a shock to most people, since Final Fantasy has a reputation for long storylines.
Something the UK PlayStation Video Store has been missing for sometime is TV episodes. Recently, the UK Store received a minor upgrade allowing you to purchase SD and HD TV episodes. As you may have read, last week Sony held a PlayStation Vita event in London where journalists and Access members got to try a huge array of games on PS Vita. American videogames retailer, Gamestop, has revealed the prices of the PlayStation Vita Memory Cards. The proprietary format cards are available in sizes ranging from 4GB up to 32GB and are based on the SD memory card format. As we expected, the Vita’s memory cards are much more expensive than the standard SD cards.
