Bioshock 2 is set for release on February 9th 2010 in North America and Europe on the PS3. If you’re planning to purchase the PS3 version of the game, you’ll be required to install a mandatory 5GB of game data to play the title. This doesn’t differ at all from the first Bioshock, which also required a 5GB installation for the PS3.

Rumor Alert: Mass Effect 2 Will Be On PS3 Before End of Year

There has been a number of rumors circulating this week regarding Mass Effect 2, currently only available on the Xbox 360. References in the code and anonymous sources confirm that a PS3 version is likely, and expected before the end of the year. Mass Effect 2 has been out for about one week and a half and has gone on to sell well past 2 million units and is now one of the highest ranking Xbox 360 exclusives on Metacritic.
Heavy Rain’s Nude Shower Scene

The creator of PS3 psychological thriller Heavy Rain and boss of development studio Quantic Dreams, David Cage, has defended the game, insisting it’s “definitely not porn”. However, with this amount of nudity in a game it’s difficult not to consider the game as being anything other than porn. Gran Turismo 5 Expected in Autumn 2010

Waiting for Gran Turismo 5 to hit the PS3? According to SCEE, you will have to wait until Autumn 2010 for the game. “We think that we’ll release this game in Autumn, before Christmas, but it is not decided yet,” said SCEE’s James Armstrong in an interview with Spanish website Canarias Al Dia. Gran Turismo has been delayed several times already, with the most recent being delay affecting the Japanese release of the game.
PS3 Getting Official 500GB External Hard Drive

PC hardware maker Buffalo has received official PlayStation licensing for two external hard drives. According to Buffalo, this is the first time Sony has granted licensing to hard drive peripherals, a move that comes in anticipation of March’s release of PS3’s “Torne” digital video recorder kit.
Heavy Rain ‘Shows Off The Power of PS3’

Sony’s Lucy Duncan has said that she believes Heavy Rain “looks brilliant” and that is “shows off the power of the PS3”, but that funding the “original and innovative IP” was a “gamble” for the company. Talking to CVG, Duncan said, “We hope that the gaming public will be as enthusiastic for Heavy Rain as we are.”
UK PlayStation Video Store Update for Feb 1st 2010

It’s the first video store update of the month and there are lots of new movies available from the UK Video Store. Starting today for the first time ever a selection of films, including Bruce Willis’ new movie Surrogates is available for you to own in HD (previously, HD movies were only available to rent). In total, 18 HD movies have been added to store, all available to own.
The Tester Coming to PSN This Month

The Tester is an original competitive reality series for PlayStation fans, it is a program for gamers, about gamers who are competing to win a job as a game tester on PlayStation’s first party development team – the team that has introduced history-making franchises such as God of War, Uncharted, LittleBigPlanet and Gran Turismo. The first episode will be available to download from the PlayStation Store on February 18th 2010, for free.
Heavy Rain Will Require HDD Install

If you are looking to get Heavy Rain when it comes out later this money, start preparing your hard drive now. Heavy Rain will require a hard drive install of at least 4GB of data before you can play the game, which will take a few minutes of your time. While the game data is installed, you can pass the time by following the the on-screen instructions on how to make your own Swan Origami.
Modern Warfare Patch v1.08 Causing Problems

Patch v1.08 is now available to download for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in Europe. The patch contains fixes for the care package and the Elevator glitches as well as the 10th prestige glitch hack. A US patch is currently in the certification process and should be available soon.
