A fresh system update has rolled out for the PS Portal. Known as System Software v7.1.7, it brings enhancements to performance and stability alongside a tweak to the device’s charging options. To help extend overall battery longevity, this patch adjusts the baseline charge cap to 80%.
Charging the device up to 80% will help maximise the long-term battery health. This setting can be changed from Settings > System > Battery, but Sony notes that this may impact “battery performance and overall stability.”
You can update your PlayStation Portal by going to [Settings] > [System] > [System Software] > [Update System Software].
