PS5 Firmware 6.0 Beta Adds 1440p Support, Gamelists and more

Sony is rolling out a new PS5 Firmware beta that will introduce a number of new features to the system, two of which have been highly requested. The firmware update will add support for 1440p resolution on supported TVs, while also allowing gamers to organise their games into Gamelists.

The update also allows gamers to compare 3D Audio and Stereo Audio, see in-progress activities easily, and adds new social features like requesting Share Screen and notifications of joinable games from party members. The version number of the latest beta is 2.0-06.00.00.

If you’re selected to participate in the beta, you’ll receive an email invitation when it’s available to download today. As for the rest, the new features will be available to the public later this year – although an exact release date has not been revealed.
