Sony Testing PlayStation Plus Video Pass in Poland

Sony has been testing a new PlayStation Plus benefit in Poland, which could roll out worldwide, if successful. The PlayStation Plus Video Pass offers selected TV series and movies as part of the existing PlayStation Plus subscription, with the content rotating every three months.

The new benefit is currently only available in Poland at the moment, and includes six series and fifteen films, including Venom, Zombieland Double Tap and Bloodshot. The trial will last 12 months, so it could be a while before this benefit is extended to other countries – if at all. The good news is that the benefit would be part of the existing subscription fee and wouldn’t cost subscribers extra.

Nick Maguire, Vice President of Global Services at SIE has confirmed the trial to Spidersweb.pl, making the following statement:

“Together with Sony Pictures Entertainment, we are launching a 12-month test benefit for the PS Plus service available in Poland, called PlayStation Plus Video Pass. This is a streaming application that PS Plus owners can download to PS4 and PS5 consoles from the PS Store, gaining access to high-quality video production, all as part of the existing PS Plus program.

“To start, PlayStation Plus Video Pass in Poland offers fifteen films and six series,” he added. “Including great cinema hits such as Bloodshot, Blade Runner 2049 or the well-known Venom, which, according to my data, has earned a large audience in Poland. In turn, the comedy series SuperMansion will have its official Polish premiere on the PlayStation Plus Video Pass. Personally, I will reach for the movie Baby Driver first.”
