New PlayStation Store Launching from Next Week on Web and Mobile

Sony has announced that the PlayStation Store for Web and Mobile be revamped in the coming weeks in preparation for the PS5 launch in November. The Web version will be the first to be updated next week, starting on 19th October.

The Mobile version of the PlayStation Store will be updated from 28th October onwards. As part of the changes, users will no longer be able to purchase or download PSP, PS Vita or PS3 games and add-on. In addition, Sony is also removing the ability to download Apps, Themes and Avatars.

PS3, PS Vita and PSP owners will still be able to purchase and download content to their console, but will now have to be done from the respective console’s PlayStation Store app. This goes for Avatars and Themes too, which will only be downloadable via the console’s PlayStation Store, including the PS4.

The PlayStation Store will also be dropping the “Wishlist” feature, which allows gamers to save a list of games they are interested in purchasing. Any items on your wishlist will be lost when this feature is removed from the store.
