Rocket League Goes Free-to-Play Next Week

Psyonix has finally revealed the date for when Rocket League goes free-to-play. The transition to free-to-play was announced a few months ago, and will be happening next week, 23rd September 2020. A new update for the game will also be released today to lay the groundwork for the launch of free-to-play.

Rocket League was previously given away on PlayStation Plus way back in July 2015, and five years on, will be available to all gamers for free. In addition, the game will no longer require PlayStation Plus to play online, which was a previous requirement.

When the free-to-play version launches on 23rd September, Season One will also begin, along with new competitive tournaments and challenges. There will be two starter packs to purchase as well which are listed below.
