Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Trailer Released

Ubisoft has released for first trailer for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Following the game’s official reveal yesterday, the game will be coming to the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC and Google Stadia in Holiday 2020.

The four minute cinematic trailer shows the Vikings raiding England using their iconic longships, with the story following a new protagonist Eivor. Both a male and female version of Eivor will be available to play, along with a vast number of customisations.

The choices you make in the game, including political alliances and dialog choices, will influence the story line in the game.

Unfortunately, the trailer doesn’t contain any game footage so we currently don’t know much how the game will look. It has been confirmed that creating a village settlement will return as a game mechanic, which will act as a hub for Eivor and your allies.

The game could be a launch title on the PS5 and Xbox Series X if the consoles launch as planned later this year. An exact release date hasn’t not been revealed, but we do know it’s coming before the end of the year.

The story’s official synopsis reads:

Driven from Norway by endless wars and dwindling resources in the ninth century AD, players will lead Eivor’s clan of Norsemen across the icy North Sea to the rich lands of England’s broken kingdoms. Players must carve out a new future for their clan, reliving the ruthless fighting style of Viking warriors with a revamped combat system that includes the ability to dual-wield weapons against a greater variety of enemies than ever before. To secure resources players can lead raids to select locations using their longship to earn much-needed riches and resources. As the Vikings begin to settle in their new home, they encounter resistance from the Saxons including King Aelfred of Wessex, who denounces them as heathens and looks to be the sole ruler of a civilized England. Against all odds, Eivor must do what is necessary to keep Valhalla within reach.

The game will be available in three Collector’s Editions, with pricing and availability still to be confirmed.
