E3 2019: Final Fantasy VII Remake Trailer

A new three-and-a-half minute trailer of Final Fantasy VII Remake has been released, showing more of the game’s fast-paced combat, cinematic sequences and gameplay. The Remake blends the traditional turn-based combat together with fast-paced action, as seen in the trailer below.

In the PSOne version of the game, you spent part of the combat time waiting for the ATB gauges to fill up before you could attack, but the Remake gives you fun stuff to do while you wait. You can also use standard attacks to accelerate the process, which can be triggered using the Square button. You can also block with R1 or dodge attacks with Circle.

The meat of the combat in Remake is Tactical Mode, which you can enter at any time by pressing X. When you go Tactical, time slows nearly to a stop and you gain access to a menu with options for Abilities, Spells, and Items.

Materia is a core part of combat too, just like the original game. You can use Materia to equip new spells, summons and other attributes. And, of course, the Limit Break is part of the Remake too. Taking damage fills up your Limit gauge, which will add the Limit Break option to the Tactical menu, ready for you to unleash fury on your enemies.

We personally cannot wait until the Remake is out, but we’ll have to wait until 3rd March 2020 to play the game.
