Recent reports have suggested that Sony are preparing to release functionality that will finally allow people to change their PSN name. According to Kotaku, three separate developers have said they are updating their games to support the upcoming feature, but no timescales were given.
Another source has also shared a screenshot of the featore showing an “Edit Username” button on a PSN profile, but the image has not been published. The feature may have have been released with PS4 Firmware 6.00, which appeared to be a major update but had minimal changes according to the changelog.
Changing the PSN Name has been one of the most requested features for several years, and we may finally be getting the functionality if these reports are true.
