Sony Expects to Sell 20 Million PS4 This Fiscal Year

Sony have shared their forecast for this fiscal year’s expected PS4 sales, which ends on 31st March 2017. In the forecast, Sony is hoping to sell 20 million units, which is an increase of 8.3% on last years figures. In comparison, Sony sold 17.7 million PS4s during fiscal year 2015, exceeding it’s 17.5 million forecast for that year.

If Sony meets it’s forecast, it will have a PS4 install base of around 60 million units worldwide. The release of PlayStation VR and the rumoured new PS4 model is expected to help boost sales.

Sony’s best selling console, the PS2, sold over 155 million units in it’s lifetime, so the PS4 has still a long way to go. But it’s doing well so far.
