PS4 Firmware v2.55 is now available to download, and is required to access the PlayStation Network. The update itself is a minor one, improving system stability and fixing bugs with the System Software. It’s worth noting that this update has caused a bug with reading discs, in particular, when ejecting the disc while the console is on stand-by mode.
To fix the bug, you need to eject the disc only when the PS4 has been fully powered on. If you do get disc read errors, simply restart the PS4 to fix the issue.
