It looks like the PlayStation Now beta is already underway in Europe, as I’ve discovered today. I was able to access the PlayStation Now beta app, and found sixteen games available to rent – all available for free. Based in the UK, I was able to access a number of games including BEYOND: Two Souls, Uncharted 3 and inFamous 2.
The screenshots below show that when purchasing a game, the checkout screen shows my balance in GBP£. You will also notice that “Purchase Confirmation” screen includes a reference to the European PlayStation website.
Finally, in order to play PS Now in North America, you have to access the games from the PlayStation Store – these screenshots show that the games are available via the stand-alone PS Now (Beta) app. The final screenshot shows that “PS Now” is not available on the PlayStation Store for me.
I’m not sure if this is mistake on Sony’s part, but there has been no announcement of a PlayStation Now European Beta so far. It was expected to start in 2015, but no release date was mentioned.
