Tales of Xillia Announced for Europe

July 6th, 2012 / Niraj Shah / News

Namco have announced that Tales of Xillia will be coming to the PS3 in North America and Europe. The game was released in Japan back in September 2011, and will hit the West in 2013. The news was announced during the Japan Expo in Paris earlier today.

The sequel to the title, Tales of Xillia 2, which releases in Japan in November may also see a Western release, according to series producer Hideo Baba, providing Tales of Xillia sells well.

The game will feature two main characters, one male and one female, from different character designers. Both characters live in the world of Liese Maxia, where humans, spirits and demons are able to reside together in harmony.

Players will engage enemies with the critically acclaimed Dual Raid Linear Motion Battle System (or DR-LMBS) that the series is famous for.  The system allows for real-time movement and attacks, giving the player a more tactical role in the midst of fights

Olivier Comte, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Sales and Publishing for NAMCO BANDAI Games Europe S.A.S said:

“The recent success for last autumn’s release of Tales of the Abyss and the anticipated release of Tales of Graces f and its exclusive European Edition has helped make localizing Tales of Xillia for the western market one of the easiest decisions we have ever made.”

Europe, Tales of Xillia
