According to EA, Battlefield 3 has now sold over 8 million units worldwide and has shipped over 12 million to store shelves. In general, the Battlefield franchise is still far away from reaching the sales figures the Call of Duty franchise has achieved over past few years.
Battlefield 3 will be getting its first major patch later this week on both the PS3 and Xbox 360, and PS3 owners have finally been given the chance to claim their free copy of Battlefield 1943.
