E3 2009: Final Fantasy VII Coming to PlayStation Store Today

June 2nd, 2009 / Niraj Shah / News
1

Over the weekend we reported that Final Fantasy VII had been listed on the ESRB website for the PlayStation 3 and PSP as a PSOne classic downloadable from the PlayStation Store. In Sony’s E3 Press Conference today, Jack Tretton announced that Final Fantasy VII will be available to download today. We’ve just checked the US PlayStation Stores but it isn’t up yet.

Tretton didn’t give any indication of price and whether it would also be available on the European PlayStation Store, but lets hope so. If the Japanese game price is anything to go by, you can expect the game to cost around $14.99. Not exactly a bargain but for a epic game like this I’m sure it will be popular.

This game IS epic, and at $9.99 it’s a bargain for those who have never experienced the original, easily putting in over 60 hours on one playthrough being the norm. For those who have played but no longer own it, the original can be expensive and near impossible to find, being so rare. So either way, this is a great deal, and I’m glad they finally released this on the PSN.
