Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Pack Breaks PSN Records

The Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Pack has not only broken records on Xbox Live, it has also broken PlayStation Network records. According to Robert Bowling, over 1 million people purchased and downloaded the Stimulus Pack breaking both the “day 1″ and “week 1″ sales records on the PlayStation Network.

Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence Package Coming In June

Another Modern Warfare 2 map pack is heading to consoles according to an interview with Robert Bowling. The Modern Warfare 2 Resurgence Package will add two more Call of Duty 4 maps, Vacant and Strike, as well as 3 new maps – Carnival, Trailer Park, and Fuel. However, the DLC is another timed exclusive for the Xbox 360.

New Modern Warfare 2 DLC in Development

Activision has confirmed that a second downloadable pack for Modern Warfare 2 will be coming later this year. The second Map Pack is currently in development by the game’s developer Infinity Ward. Chief Operating Officer for Activision, Thomas Tippl, announced the development of the new DLC, but no specific details were given.

Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package Now Available on PSN

The first downloadable content for Modern Warfare 2 – The Stimulus Package – is now available to download from the PlayStation Store.  The pack adds five new multiplayer maps to the title, two of which are from Call of Duty 4. The Stimulus Package can be downloaded from the store for a fairly high price of $14.99.

Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package Dated for PS3

The Modern Warfare 2 Stimulus Package was released on the Xbox 360 last month, and broke the record for the most downloaded DLC in Xbox history. As for the PS3 and PC, Activision and Infinity Ward has finally revealed the release date. Robert Bowling has confirmed that the DLC pack will be available to purchase in May 2010.

Awesome Fan-Made Modern Warfare Movie

If you have some time on your hands today, check out this incredibly well made fan movie on Modern Warfare. According to the YouTube description, the short movie cost only $209.42 to make, but features realistic effects equivalent of some Hollywood movies. Part II of the movie is already on the post-production stage and will be released shortly.

Modern Warfare 2 Patch v1.09

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been patched on the PS3 to version 1.09. The patch, which weighs in at around 15mb fixes a number of issues including the care package glitches in the game and extra measures to prevent experience point hacking.

Modern Warfare 2 Has Sold Over 12 Million Copies

Despite Modern Warfare 2 being released in November 2009, it continued to dominate the global games chart through to the end of 2009. According to MVC, GfK-ChartTrack has confirmed that Activision’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 sold nearly 12m units worldwide last year. More precisely, the game sold 11.86m units before 2009 came to an end.

Modern Warfare Patch v1.08 Causing Problems

Patch v1.08 is now available to download for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in Europe. The patch contains fixes for the care package and the Elevator glitches as well as the 10th prestige glitch hack. A US patch is currently in the certification process and should be available soon.

Modern Warfare 2 Patch v1.06

As promised by Infinity Ward’s Robert Bowling, Modern Warfare 2 patch v1.06 is now available to download. While the patch fixes a whole bunch of glitches and bugs, there are still many unfixed issues in the game. Two of the biggest bugs, commonly called the “javelin glitch” and the “care package glitch”, are fixed with this latest patch.
