Sony and Microsoft to Collaborate on Cloud Gaming

Last week, two of the biggest names in gaming announced a collaborative partnership to explore cloud-based gaming solutions and AI. Microsoft and Sony will be teaming up to develop future cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure and Sony’s cloud-steaming services.

Sony will be bringing hardware, including semiconductors and image sensor solutions, while Microsoft brings the Azure AI technology, and meshing them together in a hybrid manner. Sony will also explore incorporation of Microsoft’s advanced AI platform and tools in their consumer products.

What this means for PlayStation Now is currently unknown, but it could be the infrastructure could move to Microsoft Azure in the long term. Reports also suggest that Nintendo could join the partnership in the future.
