Tetris Effect Announced for PS4 and PlayStation VR

A brand new take on the classic Tetris has been announced for the PS4 and PlayStation VR, and is releasing in autumn 2018. It’s named after the psychological effect of looking at everyday objects, such as products on a supermarket shelf, and idling wondering how you could fit them all together neatly, Tetris style.

The game is being developed by Enhance, the studio of Rez creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi, and aims to “amplify this magical feeling of total immersion by surrounding you with fantastic, fully three-dimensional worlds that react and evolve based on how you play.”

The game will include over 30 completely different stages, each with their own Tetrimino blocks, clear effects, music, sounds, and more. A playable demo of the game will be available at E3, but the rest of us will have to wait before we can get our hands on the game.

A specific release date for the game has not been revealed, but you can expect it in autumn / fall of this year.
