The latest figures from Sony reveal that the PS4 has sold over 10 million units worldwide since launch last November, but it has now come to light that the UK alone had sold over 1 million units. This means the UK counts for 10% of the PS4 market, making it the second quickest console to reach the one million mark.
The figure was revealed by Chris Owen, Community Manager at PlayStation Europe, via Twitter:
We are pleased to announce that the PS4 has sold through 1 million units in the UK!

Sales are sure to increase in coming months as we approach the holiday season. Sony UK boss, Fergal Gera, has made sure there is plenty of stock available this year to meet demand:
“So in short, way ahead. I’m expecting both a very strong sales Christmas and healthy volumes this Christmas. I don’t anticipate any consumer problems.”
