God of War III Sex Mini-Game Almost Scrapped

God of War III director Stig Asmussen revealed that the sex mini-game featured in the first two God of War games where Kratos was able to go through a series of quick time events in order to complete a sex sequence with two topless beauties was almost scrapped in the third game.

Stig told UGO that the mini-game was regarded as an “important tool” in portraying Kratos as a “man’s man” in the start of the franchise. However, the necessity for its inclusion in the third instalment of the series was questioned.

In the end of a debate between Stig and the game’s writers, the mini-game was allowed to live. It’s “one of these things where we’re damned if we do, and we’re damned if we don’t” Stig said. However “it’s not just you going in there, finding some corner and having sex with somebody. It’s something that guides you through the story. You get information and more than just a fluff moment.”

We’re sure that acquiring a healthy bundle of red orbs from completing the sex sequence like in previous iterations would have been fulfilling enough. But for the sequence to be a part of the game’s plot is a much welcomed bonus.
