Sony’s Lucy Duncan has said that she believes Heavy Rain “looks brilliant” and that is “shows off the power of the PS3”, but that funding the “original and innovative IP” was a “gamble” for the company. Talking to CVG, Duncan said, “We hope that the gaming public will be as enthusiastic for Heavy Rain as we are.”
“It looks brilliant, shows off the power of the PS3, but it is also garnering great reviews so we really hope people will give it a try.”
Duncan also made mention of the company’s promise to “offer a broad set of experiences” with a “single player ‘adventure’ format” and not just capitalize on the booming multiplayer market, something Duncan says is already “flooded”.
Heavy Rain is certainly different to your typical gaming experience, and the graphics are amazing. In some cases, we reckon the graphics surpass those of Uncharted 2. We’ll find out later this month if the game is successful, when it hits shelves in North American and Europe.
