SCEJ Releases First Pay-To-Play Game For PlayStation 3

Trash Panic is a PSN game released by Sony earlier last month, which costs for £3.99 / €4.99 and includes trophies. Today, a modified version of the game has been released in Japan. Gomi Bako, as the game is known in Japanese, has been released as a pay-to-play game much like real arcade games. It costs ¥100 (approx. 69p) to play and you get 3 lives, but unlike the original game this version unlockes rewards in PlayStation Home.

The pay-to-play version of the game does not unlock trophies. It’s also the first time Sony has introduced this concept and is likely to introduce this approach to other games it is proves successfull. Personally, I prefer to pay upfront and enjoy the game without having to pay to play. If I wanted to do that, I can just head over to my local arcade.
