Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception is around 2 months away from release, and what better way to get caught up with the series than to play Nathan Drake’s first two adventures – Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. If you haven’t played the first two titles, you will soon be able to get them in a new Greatest Hits Dual Pack, out next week.
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has sold over 3.8 million copies worldwide since release, has won over 50 Game of the Year awards, and has received 39 perfect review scores. So it’s no surprise that a Game of the Year edition of game will be coming out soon. The updated edition will come with over $35 worth of bonus content, including 3 DLC packs, the 4 Uncharted: Eye of Indra motion comics and more.
Naughty Dog is continuing support of the multiplayer community next week by releasing new DLC content for Uncharted 2. On Tuesday, August 17, the Uncharted 2: Among Thieves Sidekick Skins pack will be available for purchase with the PlayStation Store. In addition to multiplayer skins, a new dynamic theme will also be released on the same day (see video below).
Naughty Dog has confirmed the release of a new title update for Uncharted 2. Patch version v1.09 is now available to download and includes a number of fixes and enhancement to the game. The cash awards for Elimination and Objective games have been altered too (detailed below).
Uncharted 2 was updated this week, bringing the game to version v1.08. The patch was released in Europe on Saturday, May 29, 2010, and in the remaining regions worldwide on Tuesday, June 1, 2010. The patch fixes a number of issues in the game but has also removed the twitter update functionality found in the game. The changelog for the update can be found below.
Naughty Dog has confirmed that the PlayStation Network will be getting new Uncharted 2 avatars later today. The PSN Avatars were created from renders made from Uncharted 2 and include Nathan Drake, Elena Fisher, Victor Sullivan, Chloe Frazer, Jeff, Tenzin, Karl Schafer, Zoran Lazarevic, Harry Flynn, and an image of the Phurba dagger.
The Uncharted 2 ‘Siege’ Expansion Pack is now available to download from the PlayStation Store. Costing only $5.99, the expansion pack adds two new maps, six new multiplayer skins, one new co-op game type and 11 new online-only Trophies. In addition, you can earn double cash this weekend.
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves has received a new update today, patching the game to version v1.07. The update includes some bug fixes and tweaks to the game, but nothing new is added to the title. You can find more information about what has been changed below.
Fans of Naughty Dog’ multiple award winning Uncharted 2: Among Thieves will be happy to know that new DLC is on the way. The ‘Siege Expansion’ pack will be hitting PSN later this month, and will cost €5.99 / £4.79. The expansion pack will include 6 character skins, a new co-op game mode for 2-3 players, 2 new maps and 11 additional Trophies (10 Bronze and 1 Silver). At the Interactive Achievement Awards last week, Naughty Dog snapped up more awards for their amazing title Uncharted 2: Among Thieves. The title won ten awards including Overall Game of the Year. The AIAS Awards, like the Academy Award for movies, is chosen and voted by the professional game developer community.
