PlayStation Move Sales Catches Up to Kinect

Kinect has now sold ten million units, but eight million were sold in the first two months, a pattern that Ubisoft has described as “not healthy”. In contract, the PlayStation Move only just reached the 9 million mark, but sales have been steady since launch. The latest figures puts the PlayStation Move just a million short of Kinect.

inFamous 2 Getting Free PlayStation Move Update

LittleBigPlanet 2 Move Patch Now Available

A new LittleBigPlanet 2 patch is now available for download by booting up the game. Patch version v1.06 weighs in at a hefty 567.07 MB, and includes PlayStation Move support and a number of tweaks to the game. A full list of changes can be found below.

Move.me Available Now on PlayStation Store

At this year’s Game Developers Conference we unveiled Move.me, a new software application that runs on the PS3 system and gives researchers, students, and programmers access to PlayStation Move’s technology for developing apps beyond traditional gaming. Move.me enables anyone with a PS3 to experiment with PlayStation Move and create new applications using a PC, the PlayStation Move motion controller, the PlayStation Eye camera, and the PS3 system.

PlayStation Move Sells Over 4.1 Million Units Worldwide

Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. (SCEI) today announced that the sales of PlayStation Move motion controller for the PlayStation 3 reached over 4.1 million units worldwide. The milestone was reached in just 2 months since its release in September for North America, Europe/PAL territories and Asia, and 1 month since the release in October for Japan.

PlayStation Move: By The Numbers

Last week we reported that Sony had shipped over a million PlayStation Move units in North America. Sony has since then released a cool infographic showing various PlayStation Move stats. A few noteworthy stats include “60% of people interested in buying the PlayStation Move already own a Wii,” and “Since May, purchase intent for the PlayStation Move among PS3 users has more than doubled.”

PlayStation Move Ships 1 Million Units in North America

Although its not a definitive sales number, the PlayStation Move has already shipped one million units and given the list of exciting games coming out soon, it’s hard to imagine sales slowing down. Sony has a stack of games lined up for the holiday season with 24 titles already supporting the motion controller.

PlayStation Move Sells 1.5 Million Units Across Europe

Sony’s PlayStation Move controller has been quite a success in Europe according recent sales figures. In the first month, the controller has seen sales “in the region of 1.5 million units”, according to SCEE boss Andrew House, exceeding initial estimates from Sony.
