Netflix Instant Streaming PS3 Video

You can now stream Netflix videos directly onto your PlayStation 3. The Blu-Ray discs required for streaming are shipping now, and will soon be available as a native application on the XMB. We have a video showing exactly how the disc works. The disc makes use of the Blu-Ray Live features to stream videos directly to your PS3, and it works pretty well.

Why do you need a disc in order to stream? Kinda defeating the point of streaming if I have to use some random disc

@Samir Ablahad Netflix is only available in the US.

@kite The disc is only a temporary solution, allowing Netflix to get out of their “Exclusive” contract with Microsoft. A native application will be available once the contract expires.

@DaLi NetFlix is for US only. For Europe, there is only LOVEFiLM.

@kite Its until their exclusive contract with Microsoft expired. Not really sure when that is.
